tripyy is a peer-to-peer marketplace for travelers — a place to buy, sell, trade, and donate travel gear with other travelers nearby. Users swipe through listings, connect via in-app messaging, and arrange meetups to exchange items. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it.

Data We Collect

When you use tripyy, we may collect the following:

  • Account info: your name, email address, and profile photo
  • Location data: used to surface nearby listings and sellers relevant to you
  • In-app messages: conversations you have with other users through the app
  • Device & usage data: app interactions, crash reports, device type, and operating system
  • Payment info for subscriptions and consumables: processed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play — tripyy never stores your card or billing details

How We Use Your Data

  • Running and improving the marketplace
  • Matching buyers and sellers by proximity
  • Sending notifications about new messages and listing activity
  • Fraud prevention and safety enforcement
  • Analytics to improve your experience

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

  • Apple and Google for payment processing
  • Analytics and crash-reporting providers
  • Law enforcement or regulators if required by law

Other users can see only your public profile and listings.

Your Rights

If you are in the EU (GDPR): you have the right to access, rectify, erase, port, and object to the processing of your personal data. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

If you are in California (CCPA): you have the right to know what data we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of your data. Note: tripyy does not sell personal data.

Data Retention

  • Account data is kept while your account is active and for 90 days after a deletion request
  • Messages may be retained for safety and abuse-investigation purposes
  • Payment records are retained as required by applicable law

Children's Privacy

tripyy is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.

Policy Changes

We will notify you of material changes to this policy via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of tripyy after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
